while Blue Marlin males rarely exceed 300 lbs, all Giants of this spezies are females, growing to their Grander-size during a over 30 years lifetime period.
identifying marks:
the Blue Marlins pectoral fins are never rigid and can be folded completely against the sides. The dorsal fin is high and anteriorly pointed, with it's greatest height always less than the greatest body depth. The large anal fin is pointed too.

even with the very constant water temperatures of our local waters the high season for Blue Marlin is starting end of June and lasts til mid October.
most caught Blues average 200-400 lbs, with several dozends in the 500+ range each season.
our right away deep blue waters after clearing the reef allow us to target Blue Marlins very close in front of the coast, mostly trolling 8-25 nmls offshore.
